Franz-Josef Moormann

Franz-Josef Moormann (* 1952 in Düsseldorf ) was the full-time mayor ( CDU ) in Kaarst , Rhein-Kreis Neuss , North Rhine-Westphalia from 1999 to 2015 .

Moormann was born in Düsseldorf, but spent his childhood in Kaarst. He is married and has four kids. He lives with his family in the Vorst district .

After graduating from high school and completing basic military service in the armed forces, Moormann studied law . He then worked as an assistant at the University of Bonn for two years . In 1989 he was appointed Ministerial Councilor. In this function he worked for the European Union and the federal government for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the environmental sector. In 1999 he was elected mayor of Kaarst and in 2009 he was re-elected for six years.
