Franz-Joseph Zumloh
Franz-Joseph Zumloh (born March 16, 1764 in Warendorf ; † May 7, 1854 ibid) was a Warendorf cloth merchant who founded the Josephs Hospital in his hometown on November 16, 1843 . The Josephs Hospital was opened on Lüninger Strasse in Warendorf, initially with accommodation for 30 patients.
Zumlohplatz in Warendorf is named after Zumloh , originally a cemetery located in front of the medieval east gate, which, with the exception of the memorial for Zumloh, was later leveled and converted into a public green area in the middle of the 20th century.
