history
Franz Arnold
Franz Arnold was born in 1980 on a mountain farm far above Wolfenschiessen (NW). He spent his childhood there away from civilization. He discovered his fascination for music late and then, thanks to his childhood friend Res Käslin, joined the Wiesenberg yodelling club . There he learned the basics of yodelling and was able to bring his creativity to bear musically. Probably the best-known result of this collaboration was born when the two friends suggested that the hit Ewigi Liebi be covered as a yodelling song . This resulted in the first solo song by Franz Arnold. Franz left the Wiesenberg yodelling club shortly afterwards, as long trips abroad were planned.
Lake Chärnoupär
The reason for his next musical contribution was provided by a lake: the Chärnoupärsee. In his free time, Franz dredged a lake on the Familienalp. The Nidwalden government did not agree and charged him. However, since he was already in Australia at that time, the press took advantage of the hour and puffed up the story properly. This caused a lot of trouble for the family. Far away in «Down Under» this didn't seem so bad and Franz grinned and grabbed his guitar to cover his very own Louenesee by the band Span , tailored to the experiences at Kernalpsee. Back in Switzerland, this version was met with great enthusiasm and was even made into a film. He was supported by his closest singing friends and star producer Tommy Mustac .
Därheimä sey
When Franz came home after several stays abroad, Mustac asked him if he would like to produce a CD with him. This idea was very well received by Franz and so the CD Därheimä sey was created with wonderful, rough and sometimes rustic songs.
The band
Franz Arnold's Wiudä Bärg was finally founded after a few half-playback appearances. Franz noticed that he didn't want to make music like that and gathered a band around him. Franz Arnold's Wiudä Bärg has been touring Switzerland since 2013.
Fidla ha
After the single Chärnoupärsee and the album Därheimä sey , which were played up and down by the radio, Franz Arnold's Wiudä Bärg is now releasing a second, very varied and somewhat mature album. Again in collaboration with Tommy Mustac and now with Dino Christen as songwriter and lyricist, the album Fidlä ha was created , which entered the official Swiss album charts at number 1 in October 2014. On Fidlä ha, the Nidwalden singer talks about the courage to have your own opinion and ponders experiences and emotions. Franz dedicates the album to his wife Corinne. Without their support and motivation, no second album would have been made. But it seems more important that without their essence, many songs would also be without content. For whom else could he have written for you if not for her ?
For Franz Arnold his band "Wiudä Bärg" is the most important element in his existence as a musician. She is his backbone and his best friend.
