Franz Baron was a shoemaker based in Vienna in the 19th century .

According to the handicrafts register of the City of Vienna from 1871, the first branch was located at Kaiserstraße 101. The manufacture became known beyond the city limits for its very modern moldings for the time. The Franz Baron shoes differed from the typical Viennese shoes of the time due to their narrower and more elegant shape. As a result, the shoes were considered very decent in the circles of the progressive Viennese upper class.

While the Budischowsky company did not survive the global economic crisis and ceased operations in 1935, Franz Baron manufactured men's sewn shoes in the top price segment until 2015.
