Franz Beisteiner
Franz Beisteiner (born December 3, 1924 in Graz ) is an Austrian mechanical engineer.
Career
Beisteiner studied and did his doctorate at the Technical University in Graz . After working in industry for several years, he came to the Technical University of Stuttgart in 1963 . In 1972 and 1973 he was Dean of the Faculty of Construction and Manufacturing Technology.
The focus of his scientific work was investigations into the operational stress of industrial trucks, service life investigations on gearboxes, model calculations for track guidance of rail-bound cranes as well as the planning and simulation of internal transport systems. In 1977 he also took over the scientific supervision of the cable car technology department. He retired on October 1, 1992.

- 1981: Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany
- 1987: Honorary Professor at Wuhan University
