Franz Enge

Franz Enge (born July 17, 1913 in Weyer ; † November 16, 1989 in Steyr ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1953 to 1965 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

Enge attended five classes at an elementary school and then completed three classes at a community school before learning to be an engine fitter. It was used in the training workshop of the Steyr works, but was unemployed from 1931 to 1935 and was then used again in the test workshop of the Steyr works. He then became a foreman and foreman for aircraft engine construction and from 1945 worked as a career advisor at the employment office in Steyr.

Enge was taken into police custody for political reasons between February 13, 1934 and May 4, 1934 and then sent to the Wöllersdorf detention center for four months . After the Second World War, he became a local councilor in Steyr in 1945, a position that he held until 1965. He also represented the SPÖ from March 18, 1953 to May 14, 1965 in the National Council and then switched to state politics at the request of the SPÖ, where he was from May 26, 1965 to November 6, 1967 and from November 17, 1967 to November 15, 1973 was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag. During this time he also worked as a regional councilor in the Upper Austrian provincial government, where he was entrusted with the departments of tourism, economic development, nature conservation, torrent control, water law, transport and price determination. On March 29, 1973, Enge left the state government; within the party he was most recently active as regional chairman and member of the federal party executive.
