Franz Förster (politician)

Franz Förster (born January 5, 1902 in Neustadt bei Coburg ; † February 23, 1985 there ) was a German teacher and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Förster attended elementary school in Neustadt near Coburg and a teacher training college in Coburg . From 1923 to 1925 he worked as a junior teacher in Thuringia . From 1928 on he passed a supplementary high school diploma with parallel studies in history, English and sports at the universities of Jena and Berlin . He then worked as a teacher at various higher and vocational schools in the capital . He took part in World War II and was held in American captivity, from which he was released in early 1946. Then he went back to the teaching profession, this time at the municipal secondary school and vocational school in Neustadt near Coburg, before he was promoted to senior high school teacher. He was also district chairman of the VDK and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt .

Förster was a member of the city council of his hometown from 1948 to 1952. From 1950 to 1970 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . He was always directly elected in the constituency of Coburg City and State, Neustadt bei Coburg .
