Franz Fiedler (politician)

Franz Fiedler (born February 12, 1898 in Pinkafeld ; † May 22, 1956 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP , previously SPÖ ) and tanner. Fiedler was married and from 1949 to 1950 a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Fiedler was born the son of the forest ranger Johann Fiedler from Pinkafeld and attended elementary school in Pinkafeld. Fiedler was a tanner and became a member of the Socialist Party. After he was briefly taken into political custody in 1934, he worked in the Pinkafelder leather factory.

From 1945 Fiedler held the position of SPÖ Vice Mayor, but left the SPÖ and joined the ÖVP in 1950 after internal disputes within the party. For the ÖVP, he moved back to the local council in 1954. Fiedler represented the SPÖ from January 2, 1946 to February 7, 1950 in the Burgenland state parliament.
