Franz Frauenlob (born August 11, 1939 ) is a former Austrian boxer and Olympic participant from 1964.

The 1.72 m tall Salzburg man was Austrian middleweight champion in 1961 and took part in the European championships in Belgrade that same year , where he won a bronze medal in the middleweight division. He was only eliminated from the Soviet Union in the semifinals against Yevgeny Feofanov .

In 1963 he was again Austrian middleweight champion and started at the European Championships of the same year in Moscow , where he was defeated in the quarterfinals against Ion Monea from Romania and thus reached 5th place. In 1964 he started at the 18th Olympic Games in Tokyo , but lost there in the second preliminary round against the Egyptian Ahmed Hassan .

Meanwhile switched to light heavyweight, he took part in the European Championships in Berlin in 1965 , but was eliminated in the first fight against Béla Horváth from Hungary. Other stations in his amateur career were participation in national matches and international tournaments (e.g. Tammer tournament in Finland)
