Franz Gaál

Franz Gaál (born September 12, 1891 in Debrecen / Hungary ; † 1956 , also Ferenc Gaál ) was an Austro-Hungarian landscape and genre painter .

Life

Little is known about Franz Gaál's education. He entered the First World War as a reserve officer and applied for admission as a war painter to the Austro-Hungarian war press headquarters . Despite a recommendation from the 10th Army High Command , he was not accepted into the KPQ.

The Army History Museum in Vienna only has one of his works in its inventory. Originally there were three, but two of them had to be ceded to Hungary in 1926.
