Franz Giger

Franz Giger (born September 30, 1856 in St. Georgen am Fillmannsbach , Upper Austria; † March 7, 1937 in Pischelsdorf , Upper Austria) was an Austrian farmer and politician .

Giger was active in the church and political area. From 1913 he was patronage commissioner, for 38 years he worked as local chairman of the Catholic People's Association and for several years also as district chairman. At the Pischelsdorf advance payment fund he was a committee member for 39 years, including 26 years chairman. He was intensively involved in local politics, was a member of the Pischelsdorf municipal committee from 1898 to 1912 and 1919 to 1924, and mayor from 1909 to 1912 and from 1921 to 1924 . In the years 1918/1919 Franz Giger was also a member of the provisional provincial assembly of Upper Austria for the Christian Social Party .
