Franz Groeppel

Franz Gröppel (born January 24, 1856 in Heringhausen ; † March 9, 1923 ) was a German entrepreneur .

Gröppel initially worked as a designer in Carl Lührig's engineering office . In 1897, he founded a factory for spare parts in Hofstede near Bochum, and later also plants for coal processing , the machine factory for processing and mining systems . He was the father of Karl Gröppel , who later became the director of WEDAG, which emerged from his father's company .
