Franz Grass

Franz Grass (born November 24, 1914 in Innsbruck ; † November 13, 1993 there ) was an Austrian legal historian.

Life

After elementary school he attended the Stella Matutina . After graduating from high school in 1933, he began studying at the law and political science faculty of the University of Innsbruck ( Dr. iur. 1937, Dr. rer. Pol. 1938). During his studies he became a member of AV Austria Innsbruck . After the Anschluss of Austria in March 1938, he was imprisoned for four weeks and released as a trainee lawyer (court year). Then studied at the Medical Faculty of the University of Innsbruck ( Dr. med. 1943). He completed his habilitation in 1947 at the law and political science faculty of the University of Innsbruck under Godehard Josef Ebers for canon law and church legal history. In 1952 he became a medical officer for the Tyrolean provincial government and in 1955 a medical officer for the Innsbruck-Land district administration (last official title senior medical officer ). In 1960 he was awarded the title of extraordinary university professor and in 1977 a court counselor .
