Franz Hagen

Franz Hagen (born November 4, 1871 in Affeln , † October 12, 1953 in Bad Godesberg ) was a German architect and newspaper publisher .

Life

In 1899 Franz Hagen came to Mülheim an der Ruhr as a young architect , where he shaped the architectural face of the city for many years. Commercial buildings, residential buildings, entrepreneurial villas (including the Villa Bagel and Villa Hanau ), hospitals, settlements, bank buildings as well as administrative and industrial buildings were built according to his designs . Before 1910, Hagen was appointed a member of the Association of German Architects .

After the death of their father-in-law, Franz Hagen and his wife owned the publishing house of the Mülheimer Zeitung, which existed until 1945 . In addition to his professional activity, Hagen was a city ​​councilor in Mülheim (from 1911) and co-founder of the local house and landowners association (1905) and the tourist association (1908).
