Franz Kössler (Librarian)

Franz Kössler (* 1931 ) is a German librarian , lexicographer and bibliographer .

Franz Kössler was employed as a librarian at the University Library of Giessen for years and made his debut as a non-fiction author in 1970 with the monograph Directory of Doctoral Doctorates at the University of Giessen from 1801 to 1884 . He then published several biographical reference works a . a. Monographs, personal encyclopedias , registers and directories . His main work is the personal dictionary of teachers of the 19th century from 2008 with over 15,000 biographies.
