Franz Kett (born October 5, 1933 ) is a German religious educator and publisher.

Life

Franz Kett did his Abitur in what was then the Freising boys' college. He then studied philosophy and Catholic theology , but then switched to pedagogy . He worked in the Bavarian school service for 13 years, including two years at the Nuremberg School for the Deaf and three years at a one-class rural school. In 1972 he was given leave of absence from school to work as head of the day care unit in the Caritas Association in Munich. At the same time he was a lecturer for education and religious education at the specialist academy for social education of the Caritas Association in Munich. In 1975 he left the Bavarian school service. In the school department of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising , Kett was the head of the department for pre-school education. In 1985, Kett ended his teaching activities at the FASP and began with parenting and family catechesis, as well as with further training events in religious education.

Franz Kett made a name for himself with his “floor pictures” for preschool children, in which a three-dimensional picture from simple materials such as cloth, balls, pieces of wood, stones etc. is gradually created on the floor while a story or a fairy tale is being told.

Franz Kett is co-founder of the journal Religionspädagogische Praxis and was its editor from 1978 to 2009. After separating from the RPA publishing house, he gives. from 2010 to today in cooperation with the "Institute for Franz-Kett-Pedagogy GSEB eV" (formerly Institute for holistic, meaning-oriented pedagogy-RPP eV) the yearbook for holistic, meaning-oriented education and training . The writings and yearbooks appear in his own publishing house.
