Franz Kurz (politician, 1920)
Franz Kurz (born November 19, 1920 in Heiligenkreuz im Lafnitztal ; † November 5, 2003 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and farmer. From 1977 to 1982 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .
Life
Kurz was born as the son of the farmer Franz Kurz and attended various advanced training courses after primary school in Heiligenkreuz, where he was employed in his parents' farm until 1940. He then served in the Wehrmacht between 1940 and 1945 . From 1956 he was a farmer in Deutsch Kaltenbrunn . In 1971 he was given the professional title of Economics Council.
politics
Kurz joined the SPÖ and the Labor Farmer Association in 1948, taking on the role of regional chairman of the Labor Farmer Association in 1951. In addition, from 1949 he was local party chairman of the SPÖ-Heiligenkreuz and municipal council, from 1950 chamber councilor of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture and its 3rd president between 1974 and 1977. Within the party, he was also active as SPÖ district party secretary in Jennersdorf from 1963, and between 1977 and 1982 he was SPÖ district party chairman in Jennersdorf. Briefly represented the SPÖ between October 27, 1977 and October 29, 1982 in the state parliament and was mayor of Deutsch Kaltenbrunn from 1979 to 1982 .
