Franz Lippert (anthroposophist)

Franz Lippert (born April 9, 1901 in Wiesentheid ; † August 26, 1949 in Traunstein ) was an anthroposophist and a leading figure in the biodynamic movement during the Nazi era. As an SS officer, he heads the plantation of the Dachau concentration camp .

From 1924 to 1940 Lippert was head gardener at the anthroposophical natural cosmetics and pharmaceutical manufacturer Weleda . From 1941 he managed the biodynamic cultivation operations at the Dachau concentration camp and shortly afterwards joined the Schutzstaffel (SS). The plantation was built by concentration camp prisoners, mainly Jews and Sinti and Roma . In 1944 Lippert received special recognition for his work as well as a bonus.
