Franz Loquai

Franz Loquai (* 1951 in Obergünzburg ) is a German German philologist, literary scholar and university professor.

Life

Loquai received his doctorate in 1984 from the University of Bamberg with a dissertation on “Artists and Melancholy. On the social situation of the artist in romantic prose ”. In 1992 he completed his habilitation there in modern German literature and was appointed to the University of Heidelberg . In 1995 the habilitation was extended.

His research areas include literature from the 18th to 20th centuries, especially romantic and contemporary literature. Otherwise he deals with literary reception, literary criticism and media analysis.
