Surname

In May 2018 it became known that the Foreign Minister was changing his last name from Aslov to Muhriddin . This was noted on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website and later officially confirmed. The name change probably took place under pressure from Tajik President Emomalij Rahmon , who is anxious to push back Slavic- sounding surnames.
