Franz Scheder

Franz Scheder (* 1948 in Nuremberg ) is a musician and Anton Bruckner researcher.

After studying dentistry, Scheder established himself as a dentist in his hometown in 1975.

At the same time, Scheder was and is always active as a musician, music historian and musicologist. At the age of nine he began to play the violin and, after graduating from high school, studied piano and music theory at the Meistersinger Conservatory for three years . Since then, Scheder has also played as a violist in several orchestras and chamber music formations and has also been the first chairman of the Private Music Association in Nuremberg since November 11, 2013.

He became known as a Bruckner researcher. His musicological and music history studies concerned and still concern both the work and the biography of Bruckner. As a member of the Anton Bruckner Institute Linz and the International Bruckner Society in Vienna, Scheder researches and publishes continuously.
