Franz Tauber

Franz Tauber (* in Lindau ; † in the 19th century) was a German writer and poet .

life and work

Franz Tauber was born in Lindau as the son of a postmaster . After the Latin preparatory school in 1818, he attended the Royal High School Institute in Kempten in the Upper Danube District in 1820 .

In addition to his normal professional activity, Tauber was appointed secretary to the General Post Administration by the first chancellery in June 1842, and in 1841 Tauber had turned to the publication of works of fiction. In 1841 and 1843 he published the two volumes of short stories Parabeln and Die Blumen-Sprache: Developed in Small Stories , published in Landshut and Passau . Then he devoted himself increasingly to the writing of poetry. Four volumes of lyrical content were published in Munich between 1843 and 1863 . Fischer-Gedichte (1843), The Miraculous Deeds of Jesus and the Apostles: In addition to other miracles produced by direct divine power, told in rhyming verses (1845), Mixed poems (1856) and the volume Memories of Lindau and Lake Constance as picturesque, homely blue floods their magical grounds in a series of poems: With a view from Lindau (1863) to his native Lindau.

At the end of 1860, Tauber had retired from the General Directorate of the Royal Transport Authority due to proven physical inability to function.
