Franz Wenzl (bank manager)

Franz Wenzl (* 1925 ) is an Austrian farmer , politician and bank manager .

From 1984 to 1992 he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Österreichische Volksbanken-Aktiengesellschaft (ÖVAG).

Professional activity

Wenzl was a farmer and after the war he rebuilt the family's own farm in Marchfeld .

He was elected to the supervisory board of Marchfelder Volksbank in 1949, changed to its executive board in 1955 and was chairman of this cooperative from 1964 . In 1970 he became full-time managing director and from 1981 to 1990 he was managing director in accordance with the Banking Act.

Functions in the Volksbank sector

Wenzl was chairman of the advisory board from 1974 to 1976 and in 1976 he was deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Österreichische Volksbanken-Aktiengesellschaft. In 1984 he took over the chairmanship of the supervisory board as president and held this function until 1992.
