Franz Wyzner

Franz Wyzner (born December 8, 1931 in Vienna ) is an Austrian opera singer ( baritone / bass ) and theater actor.

Life

At the age of 18, his voice was discovered, which he trained with Marthold. In 1957 he made his debut at the Vienna Chamber Opera. This was followed by engagements at the music stages in Salzburg, Gelsenkirchen and Wuppertal. From 1986 to 1997 the artist was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz , where he quickly became a particular audience favorite and still makes guest appearances today. Wyzner sang and played at many German and Austrian music and drama stages a. a. in Wuppertal, Bonn, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Graz, Klagenfurt, Salzburg and at the Opera of Buenos Aires. His absolute star roles include Papageno in Die Zauberflöte , Figaro in The Marriage of Figaro , Zsupan in The Gypsy Baron , Feri Básci in Die Csárdásfürstin and Penižek in Countess Mariza . From February to April 2010, Wyzner played the landlord in the play Der Theatermacher at the Klagenfurt City Theater .

In addition to his stage presence, the chamber actor also works as an interpreter of Wiener-Lieder .
