Franz Zimmer

Franz Zimmert (born August 18, 1949 ) is a former German football player. He was a defender .

Career

Zimmer's parent club was the ASV Forth , a club from a district of Eckental . In 1964 he moved to the youth department of 1. FC Nürnberg .

In the 1968/69 Bundesliga season , Zimmert played a game for 1. FCN: On April 9, 1969, he played 90 minutes in the 2: 4 away defeat at Hamburger SV . At the end of the season he moved to SpVgg Fürth in the Regionalliga Süd. In the following three years he came there to 84 regional league games, in which he scored 16 goals.

From 1972 to 1978, Zimmert played at 1. FC Herzogenaurach , where he was later also an assistant coach under Hans Nowak . Then he played for two years at SpVgg Jahn Forchheim . At ASV Forth, his home club, he ended his active career and was then head of the football department at this club.
