Fraternity of Jesus Caritas
The Jesus Caritas Fraternity (FJC) is an institute of consecrated life . According to canon law , it is a secular institute under papal law. It was founded in Ars in 1952 by Marguerite Poncet and René Voillaume and recognized by the Holy See in 1996 . The community is affiliated to the “ Spiritual Family Charles de Foucauld ”.
history
In the early 1950s, Marguerite Poncet and two other women were looking for a lifestyle that would allow them the greatest possible spiritual space in their normal living environment . The first cell met in Ars in 1952, from which two groups developed: the women's community of Charles de Foucaulds as a community of believers and the Fraternity Jesus Caritas, which received the status of a secular institute under papal law in 1998 . Today the secular institute has over 200 members who are active in 26 countries around the world. In Germany , seven women have committed themselves to the community.
Life form
The sisters continue to live in their previous environment, they live a contemplative vocation in the middle of the world . Eucharistic adoration , the celebration of Holy Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours are part of daily life . The group meets monthly. The members promise a life according to the evangelical counsels ( poverty , celibacy and obedience ).
admission
Interested women take part in community life for a year. You should have completed vocational training and not be older than 45 years. After the application period, a two-year preparation period follows the first promise, during which the candidate is accompanied by an experienced member of the community. After a further six years, the member can make final promises.
