Amy Ziering

Amy Ziering (* 1962 in Massachusetts ) is an American film producer who mainly focuses on documentaries .

life and career

At the age of 16 she became interested in the work of Jacques Derrida and in 2002 she dedicated a documentary to him. Amy Ziering graduated from Amherst College in 1984 with a degree in English. In the 1980s, she graduated from Yale University . In 1998 she made her first appearance as a producer on the documentary Taylor's Campaign . The film received an award for Best Documentary at two film festivals. Ziering made her directorial debut with the documentary Derrida and received the Golden Gate Award together with Kirby Dick at the San Francisco International Film Festival . In 2007 she returned to the film drama The Memory Thief , starring Mark Webber and Rachel Miner . Ziering worked again with Kirby Dick in 2009. Dick wrote and directed the documentary about homosexuality in politics, with Amy Ziering appearing again as a producer. At the 2013 Academy Awards , she and Kirby Dick received an Oscar nomination in the Best Documentary category for her documentary The Invisible War .
