Fraunhofer Publica

Fraunhofer-Publica is a bibliographical database of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft . It records the publications of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, its institutes and their employees. The subject areas covered in the database correspond to the research areas of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.

The publicly funded research facility documents the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft with the Fraunhofer-Publica to the public its research activities.

The database has been operated in the Fraunhofer Information Center for Space and Construction in Stuttgart since 1980 and is maintained in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institutes and their libraries. In addition to common forms of literature such as monographs, research reports, journal articles and conference papers, patents and so-called gray literature that is not available in bookshops are also listed.

In 2015 more than 185,000 titles were recorded. Every year around 10,000 new publications are added in the form of articles, conference contributions and conference proceedings as well as research reports, studies, university publications and patents or utility models.

The bibliographical data are freely accessible for further use by search engines and preparation for other portals and specialist databases. The metadata from Fraunhofer Publica is made available to other data providers (portals, repositories, search engines) via a standardized OAI-PMH interface.

In accordance with the Open Access Policy of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, publications in full text have been made freely available on the affiliated Open Access Repository Fraunhofer-ePrints since 2005. Alternatively, the Fraunhofer-Publica offers links to full texts otherwise available on the internet.
