Fred Cheng
Fred Cheng ( Chinese 鄭俊弘 / 郑俊弘 , Pinyin Zhèng Jùnhóng , Jyutping Zeng 4 Zeon 3 wang 4 ; born November 10, 1983 in Vancouver , Canada ) is a Chinese singer and actor in Hong Kong , who won 1st place on The Voice Of The Stars became known.
Life
Fred Cheng was born in Vancouver , Canada and lived there with his mother, older sister, and younger brother. He graduated from Eric Hamber Secondary School and then went back to Hong Kong .
Career
In 2001, his mother sent him to the TVB New Talent Singing Awards talent show, where he won 2nd place. He was then offered a recording contract with Capital Artists, but they stopped operating for two months of training, so that his singing career was temporarily over.
In 2003 the TVB offered an artist contract and he got his first leading role in the TVB TV series Shine On You (青出於藍). He received good reviews from viewers, got other roles and signed a management contract with TVB in 2011.
In 2013 he successfully participated in the singing competition "The Voice Of The Stars". "The Voice Of The Stars" juror Eric Moo (巫啟賢) accepted him as his student and offered to perform at his concert. On November 15, 2013, he signed a contract with TVB's new record company "Voice Entertainment" and released his solo album in September 2014. He released his first single "Nobody" (無 名氏) on March 24, 2014, within 5 hours of the best-selling single on Hong Kong iTunes for 7 days. He was then hired for two theme songs for the TVB television series The Ultimate Addiction (點 金勝 手) and Ghost Dragon Of Cold Mountain (寒山 潛龍).
After winning The Voice Of The Stars, he received offers from TVB for acting roles, theme songs and commercials. He also shot commercials for large companies such as Wellcome, P&G and Magic Smile B1, which made him known all over Asia and which resulted in further engagements. He has been invited as a guest singer in many concerts. On September 15, he released his album The Story Of A Panda <熊貓 的 故事>, which reached number one on the sales charts within a week.
