Free On-line Dictionary of Computing

Free Online Dictionary of Computing ( FOLDOC ) is a free online - Fachwörterbuch , the concepts of computer science explained in English and the principle of free content subject.

The project was started in 1985 by Denis Howe. FOLDOC runs on servers of Imperial College London and can be searched free of charge by anyone. As editor-in-chief, Denis Howe takes care of updating the entries; users are invited to make suggestions for new entries and changes.

The dictionary contains texts from other open content sources, such as the Jargon File . Since FOLDOC is subject to the GNU Free Documentation License , all or part of its content has been incorporated into other Open Content projects, including Wikipedia .
