Free orbit
Free Orbit was founded in 1969, German jazz - rock -Formation that Peter Herbolzheimer and Udo Lindenberg initiated.
The band was made up as follows: Freddy Christmann and Heinz Habermann (trumpets), Peter Herbolzheimer (bass trombone), Frank St. Peter (flute, alto saxophone), Emil Wurster (tenor saxophone), Rainer Vogelei (bass), Hans Hartmann (bass, sitar ) and Udo Lindenberg (drums, vocals).
A year after its founding, the band released a record of the same name on MPS , on which ten, exclusively English-language tracks were to be heard, which Lindenberg had written either alone or with one of the fellow musicians. Udo Lindenberg sang the tracks 1 "Never Felt So Free" , 2 "Amsterdam" , 4 "What Colors Has the Soul" , 6 "All My Love Girl" (in a duet with Mike Brooks), 8 "Big Family" (in a duet with Brooks) and 10 “Flying Windmill” .
In 2003 the album was reissued as a CD on the Membran International GmbH label, and in 2014 on MPS / Edel.
