The three-cushion European championship in 1994 was the 52nd tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from 1st to 3rd April 1994 in Odense on the island of Funen . It was the fourth three-cushion European Championship in Denmark.
history
Since the pros of the BWA were missing again at this European Championship, the outcome of the EM was completely open. So it happened that the Dutchman John Tijssens won the title when he first participated in a European Championship. In an exciting final, he defeated the Swiss Andreas Efler in the fifth set just 15:13. For the home side there was also a medal from Dion Nelin, who won the last small final with 3-0 sets. The German participants, six in number, did not disappoint, but some of them played very unhappy. The best game of the tournament was played by last year's runner-up in Europe, Maximo Aguirre, and Martin Horn, who was 22 years old for the first time in a three-cushion European Championship . After a very even game, Aguirre only won in the fifth set with 15:13 and played the best individual average (BED) of the tournament with 1.632. Horn also played very well with 1.609 and was eliminated with the best tournament score of 1.425 and ended up ninth. Aguirre was again the best German and came in seventh. All tournament best performances were played by German participants.
mode
The tournament was played with 32 participants. The entire tournament was played on three sets of 15 points each.
