The three-cushion European championship in 1948 was the fifth tournament in this discipline of the carom and took place from 6 to 10 May 1948 in Madrid .

history

After three European championship titles in a row, defending champion Alfred Lagache could not repeat this performance and finished with sixth place. To do this, he screwed the tournament record for the highest series from 9 to 12. It was not until 1960 that Dutchman Henry de Ruijter beat this record with 15.

Since the end of the regular games between the Spaniard Joaquin Domingo and Roger Hanoun from Spain came to a tie, both had a points account of 14: 2, a game was played. At this time the Frenchman was leading the general average (GD) with 0.827, but he lost the trick game 50:44 in 58 shots and had to be satisfied with 2nd place. However, he kept the records in GD and BED .

mode

The game was “everyone against everyone” to 50 points with an equal number of shots .
