The three-cushion European championship in 1932 was the first tournament in the carom discipline and took place from 25 to 29 November 1932 in Amsterdam .
history
Before this tournament only European championships were held in Cadre 45/2 and 45/1. There was not yet a regular rotation. The next EM was to take place three years later, in 1935.
The winner was Franz Aeberhard from Switzerland , ahead of Henk Robijns from the Netherlands. Until today (Jan 2013) it is the only title for the Swiss at an EM. The only German participant was Otto Unshelm , third in the 3-cushion World Cup in 1928. He managed the highest series of the tournament with 8 carom loops . Despite being equal on points with third-placed Claudio Puigvert from Spain, he was only fifth due to the poor general average (GD) - with a difference of only 59 hundredths.
mode
“Everyone against everyone” was played with 50 points. At first it was planned to eliminate the last placed after the first 16 games and to end the tournament with eight players. At short notice it was decided to play the entire tournament with all nine players.
