The three-cushion European championship in 1967 was the 25th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from March 28 to April 2, 1967 in Angoulême . It was the third three-cushion European championship in Angoulême after 1939 and 1949.

history

Raymond Ceulemans won his sixth title in a row , despite his first defeat at a European Championship in four years, again against Johann Scherz . In a tournament without a new European record, the Belgian Fernand van Barel made his European debut for the second nation-wide double victory in the history of the three-cushion European championships. The French Legache and Davin achieved this for the first time in Amsterdam in 1935. The Austrian Johann Scherz was third after five runner-up championships in a row. After finishing sixth in the previous year, the German representative August Tiedtke came fourth this time. For the first time, a European championship was held according to the Japanese system with eleven participants. The tournament lasted six days and a total of 55 games were played. The very defensive acting Swiss Jacques Blanc managed that all participants needed the most pictures against him. The longest game that has been played at the European Championships so far, in a tie between Blac and the French Siguret, lasted 3½ hours.

mode

The game was played in the system “everyone against everyone” to 60 points with additional push / equal intake .
