history

In the perfectly organized European championship, Johann Scherz was the first Austrian to secure the title of three-cushion European champion. He only gave one point against the Portuguese Joao Pereira. Otherwise he dominated the tournament and won the rest of the games. The best German three-cushion player August Tiedtke came in second again . Belgian defending champion René Vingerhoedt came in third . With 1.724 he set a new European record in the best individual average (BED). The organizer of the European Championship reported that the house was sold out every day.
