The three-cushion European championship in 1947 was the fourth tournament in this discipline of carom and took place in Brussels from May 22nd to 25th, 1947 .
history
For the first time since the start of the European Championship in 1932, the number of participants fell to eight players. The Frenchman Alfred Lagache won the tournament for the third time in a row. While he always won the previous titles without losing a game, he had to give up one game in this tournament and one was a draw. In the end he won by just one point over the runner-up, René Vingerhoedt from Belgium. Lagache also secured the best GD and individual average (BED) of the tournament, which he also increased to the new record of 1.111. Between Vingerhoedt and third-placed Spaniard Claudio Puigvert , if the points were equal, the better general average (GD) had to decide on the placement.
mode
The game was “everyone against everyone” to 50 points with an equal number of shots .
