The Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland is a Reformed Free Church that split off from the Free Church of Scotland in 1893 .

The Free Church has its main focus in Scotland , where it comprises 38 congregations. Other parishes are located in England , the USA , New Zealand and Zimbabwe , among others . She sees herself as the guardian of the legacy of the Reformation according to John Calvin as it was shaped by John Knox and rejects the liberal currents which, in her view, have gripped most of the other Presbyterian churches. Her doctrine of faith includes, among other things, the authority of the Bible , the sanctification of Sundays and the rejection of Christmas as "pagan". The applicable creed is the Westminster creed .

Organizationally, it is not related to the Free Presbyterian Church , which has its focus in Northern Ireland , but is closely related in terms of content.
