Freija is a professional Finnish folk band.

Career

The band was formed in 2005. Since then, they have given numerous concerts at festivals, clubs and concert halls across Finland and released several albums.

Freija interpret traditional folk songs as well as their own compositions. Furthermore, traditional texts are set to music or new texts are written for familiar melodies. A special feature of Freija's music is its polyphonic singing.

In addition to folk music for adults, Freija have developed their own program with folk music for children. This was published on own CDs and books, as well as contributions to special compilations.
