Agenda 21 symbol in front of the field laboratory

In front of the outdoor laboratory is a work of art developed by the laboratory called the Agenda 21 symbol . It consists of three boulders , which are supposed to symbolize the goals of Agenda 21 of the environmental summit in Rio 1992 : a "lasting, environmentally friendly and sustainable development that takes ecological, social and economic aspects equally into account". The boulders are a donation from a Niederlehmer sand and mortar factory and weigh 600 kg, 700 kg and 1,000 kg. Three tree trunks were placed behind the boulders to represent the Köpenick 3-pillar model of the Local Agenda 21 . They represent the equal cooperation between administration, citizens and ecumenism and were made available by the Senate Department for Urban Development. The cut was done by the district forester in Fahlenberg, the installation was done by a company from Gosen-Neu Zittau. The trees have a circumference of about one meter and a height of three meters. They are set up at a distance of 1.15 meters.
