Overhead line masts on the Little Belt

Two parallel 380 kV three-phase power lines run across the Little Belt near Middelfart in Denmark . Both lines cross the Little Belt on delta masts . The masts of the overhead line crossings over the Little Belt are visible from afar and after the masts of the Limfjord overhead line crossing 2 belong to the highest overhead line masts in Denmark.

Line 1

The masts of line 1 are at 55 ° 31 '36 "  N , 9 ° 41' 29"  E on mainland Denmark and at 55 ° 31 '6 "  N , 9 ° 41' 31"  E on Funen. The 113.1 meter high mast on the Danish mainland carries a directional radio station, the mast on Fyn is 119.5 meters high.

Line 2

The masts of line 2 are at 55 ° 31 '36 "  N , 9 ° 41' 26"  E on mainland Denmark and at 55 ° 31 '6 "  N , 9 ° 41' 27"  E on Funen. The mast on mainland Denmark is 119.2 meters high and the mast on Funen is 125.3 meters high.

Replacement of overhead lines with three-phase cables

ABB received the order to supply and install this cable system in February 2012 from the Danish transmission system operator Energinet.dk. The system consists of a total of 30 km of 420 kV single-conductor land cables and a total of 15 km of the 420 kV three-conductor cable. Due to the power to be transmitted, two three-phase systems are laid in parallel, each of which can transmit 500  MW . When the project is completed in autumn 2013, it will be the world's most powerful three-wire AC submarine cable system.
