Open-air theater Altusried (2009)

The Altusried open-air theater is an open-air theater event in Altusried that takes place every three years and has a 140-year tradition. Almost exclusively the residents of Altusried act as volunteer performers.

history

In 1879, Altusried's amateur actors brought the play Der Bavarian Hiasl to the stage for the first time . In 1911 500 parishioners were already involved in staging Andreas Hofer's struggle for freedom. The plays "Andreas Hofer", "Götz von Berlichingen" and "Wilhelm Tell" dominated the program until the permanent grandstand was built. The theme of “freedom and the fight against oppression” has remained the dominant leitmotif of the theater productions to this day, but since 2005 it has also opened up to other heroes from history and literature.
