The open-air stage on Mangoldfelsen is an open-air stage in Donauwörth . It was opened in 2007 and is run by Theater Donauwörth e. V. operated.

history

As early as 1987, theater performances by Theater Donauwörth e. V. instead. However, the venue was also the playground of a local school, so that the structures for the stage and audience area had to be dismantled and rebuilt again and again. In cooperation with the city, the club members then built a permanent stage with an auditorium, toilets, lighting and sound system and, from 2009, a hospitality building. The stage opened on June 23, 2007 with a performance of The Three Musketeers . In addition to the theater performances of the operating association, concerts and other events take place on the facility. The grandstand has a capacity of 450 seats. The Donauwörth e. V. is a member of the Association of German Open Air Theaters , its chairman Wolfgang Schiffelholz is the current president of the association.

The last time in 2006, before the permanent stage was completed, a local historical play was shown on the open-air stage with Maria von Brabant , in which the family history and the murder of Maria von Brabant was thematized.

Audience numbers

The usually 20 to 25 theatrical performances of the Donauwörther open-air stage have been attended by 8,000 to 10,000 people annually in recent years, the number of visitors to the other events fluctuates.
