The Freisinger Tagblatt is a regional daily newspaper based in Freising in Upper Bavaria . Today it is a local edition of the Münchner Merkurs . The sold circulation is 11,478 copies, a decrease of 21.8 percent since 1998.
history
After Bavaria took over the Hochstift Freising , the prince-bishop rentmaster a. D. Schadenfroh, the episcopal printing house, in which the first Freising local paper appeared in 1804: the "Freising Weekly". At the end of 1804, Schadenfroh sold the printing company for 600 guilders to Thomas Müller, who died a successful publisher in 1837. Under his successor Franz Paul Datterer, the weekly newspaper became the daily newspaper. His son Franz Paul Datterer Jr., after his death in 1905 his wife Babette and finally daughter Betty Müller ran the business. During the National Socialism , the daily newspaper was brought into line. After the war, the Freisinger Tagblatt did not appear again until 1948. In 1968 the daily newspaper was merged with the Münchner Merkur as a local edition . In February 1982 the publisher Dirk Ippen bought the company. Today the "Freisinger Tagblatt" is the most widely read daily newspaper in the Freising district .
