The French Point is a headland on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is located immediately west of Cape Buller .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2009. It is named after Captain French, the skipper of one of the first sealers in the waters of South Georgia, who died on board his ship in 1800 in Prince Olav Harbor .
