Frerk, you dwarf! is the name of a 2011 children's book by the German author and filmmaker Finn-Ole Heinrich and a play of the same name that premiered in 2012.

Frerk, you dwarf! tells the story of the outsider Frerk, who is teased at school and one day makes an extraordinary discovery in the form of a strange egg. He accidentally hatches this in his pocket. A troop of strange little figures hatch and turn Frerk's life upside down. In 2012, the book won the German Youth Literature Prize in the "Children's Book" category. The jury's statement says: "Heinrich's eloquent, fabulous and semantically creative text is provided with cheeky, whimsical craquelure pictures by Flygenring. Frerk, you dwarf! Is nonsense in its very best and finest sense and a plea for anarchy, courage and self-confidence - and a great reading fun too. "

Ballet piece
As part of the children's and youth program of the 11th international literature festival berlin , students from the State Ballet School in Berlin developed a ballet piece that was performed once during the festival in September in the presence of Finn-Ole Heinrich.
Play
The play of the same name for the book will celebrate its premiere in September 2012 as part of the children's and youth program of the 12th international literature festival berlin in the Haus der Berliner Festspiele . It is a production of the Neukölln Opera in cooperation with the international literature festival berlin.
