A troop of strange little figures hatch and turn Frerk's life upside down. In 2012, the book won the German Youth Literature Prize in the "Children's Book" category. The jury's statement says: "Heinrich's eloquent, fabulous and semantically creative text is provided with cheeky, whimsical craquelure pictures by Flygenring. Frerk, you dwarf! Is nonsense in its very best and finest sense and a plea for anarchy, courage and self-confidence - and a great reading fun too. "

criticism

Even in the press, Frerk, you dwarf! a very positive response. The NDR writes: “What was previously ordered and dreary is now becoming wild, illogical and anarchic. And that's what makes Finn-Ole Heinrich's story so charming. Because a lot of things are really silly, because they are guaranteed to use unhygienic words and because the Icelandic illustrator Rán Flygenring has found cheeky and weird cracked pictures for them. A real children's book, not a book by adults for children. ”KulturSPIEGEL also rated the book very positively:“ But then came Finn-Ole Heinrich, 29, who wears shaggy hair and a hipster beard, who has published a novel and quite a few in the cool small publisher mairisch Stories, inspired by German-language pop poetry, and together with the Icelandic illustrator Rán Flygenring, 24, brought out a children's book that we couldn't imagine more fabulous. 'Frerk, you dwarf!', So the title, is a little rebel who awakens the spirit of resistance, an anarcho for the shelf in the children's room. "
