Fria Elven-Frenken
Fria Elfen-Frenken (* 1934 in Vienna , Austria ) is an Austrian artist , book designer and gallery owner.
Life
Fria Elfen studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Herbert Boeckl and Albert Paris Gütersloh . In 1959 she settled in St. Margarethen in Burgenland . From 1980 to 1992 she lived and worked with her husband and artist Wil Frenken in Breitenbrunn on Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland . The common house is used today as a gallery and workshop in Breitenbrunn as well as for events of the Landesgalerie Burgenland .
Since the mid-1980s, Fria Elfen-Frenken has been working with collages made of Forto elements, texts and scraps of writing, among other things. She uses transparent materials such as plexiglass for her room and light installations and experiments with light, shadow and mirrors.
