Fridolin has been a weekly regional newspaper with an official gazette in the canton of Glarus since 1965 . The name Fridolin is derived from the canton saint Fridolin von Säckingen and the canton's coat of arms. The catchment area is the entire Glarnerland and adjacent communities. The editorial office is at Schwanden GL . The newspaper is published by Fridolin Verlag. The managing director is Maya Ziegler-Bodmer, who has been running the company for over four years.

According to its own statements, the newspaper positions itself as “clearly conservative in terms of values”. It contains the sections news, politics, society, economy, culture and sport.
