Friedemann Grieshaber

Friedemann Grieshaber (* 1968 in Ravensburg ) is a German sculptor and draftsman . He lives and works in Berlin and in the Allgäu .

Life

Friedemann Grieshaber was born in Ravensburg in 1968. After completing his apprenticeship as a stone cutter, he traveled through Israel and Egypt . Grieshaber then studied sculpture in Stuttgart and Berlin. He was a workshop tutor for two years and completed his studies at the Berlin University of the Arts as a master class student in 1998.

Grieshaber has received grants and prizes, most recently from the Federal Government and the Berlin Academy of the Arts at the Villa Serpentara in Olevano Romano (2005). A public contract for a group of figures in the outdoor area was carried out in Ulm. In 2006 he was given a teaching position for sculpture at the 9th International Dresden Summer Academy . Construction of a large sculpture on an island in the Atlantic Ocean (2007). Works are in public and private collections. Since 1998 exhibitions and participation in art associations, museums, public and private galleries. Participation in art fairs, also with individual presentations. His works are predominantly made of concrete, thematically somewhere between the structure and the sculptural form.
