Friedemann Schreiter

Friedemann Schreiter (* 1951 in Jahnsbach ) is a freelance writer and author. Poems are published in anthologies, novels and short stories. He writes radio plays, scripts for television films and TV series.

Life

Friedemann Schreiter was born in Jahnsbach in the Ore Mountains in 1951. After graduating from high school in Dresden in 1970, an apprenticeship as a mechanic and serving in the Navy, he studied philosophy at the Humboldt University in Berlin. He worked for radio in the GDR as an audio dramaturge.

He has been working as a freelancer since 1980. From 1982 to 1990 he was a member of the GDR Writers' Association . He received the Critics' Prize for the screenplay for the film Das Buschgespenst , 1987. He lives in Berlin and Mecklenburg.
